Instructions 

 Review on 5 articles 

Before starting, I had to look up as many research articles as I can, then I will choose 5 out of all for my critical review. Even though in the middle of reviewing the articles, I still look for my research articles to find the best and most related to my research. It took me a very very long time to review each article as I get bored easily and I can't focus for a long time. It was definitely a challenge for me to sit and read on my laptop. Then, in week 6, as my progress is very slow, I decided to print out the articles aI have chosen, and do all the highlighting and remarks manually. It definitely helped me a lot and i progressed faster when I did everything manually. However, Dr.Hayati did advice us to use Mendeley, a platform that highlights and annotate articles, which is very helpful and convenient for us, but I used the best and comfortable way to carry out the whole process. 

While reviewing, I had to do a lot of reading and fully understand the article before I write the entire critical review. Through this process, I have learnt more about the gender stereotype that has been going on in Disney animation, and how the characters are portrayed in Disney animations. Especially Ralphs breaks the internet film is one of the greatest animations that displayed gender equality context. I was shooked because I have never watched that movie before, and it actually attracted me into watching it, even though I watched the movie summary.

As long as the research articles have ‘Abstract’ and ‘Keywords’, and little pages unlike thesis thatbhave 100+page, then it is not a thesis and can be used to review.

Week 6 (06.10.2022)

Thesis cannot be used for critical review. You may do your reading using Mendeley, the functions are convenient and useful. Find articles that cover which year that is beneficial and related to your research.
