Task 2
We tried to find some matching illustration styles and elements to match with the colour palette. In the end, we found the illustration style which is line art that we can use in the app and the pitch video.

Reflection
Experience:
In this task, we struggled a lot in setting up the art direction for this project. We had to find suitable colours that are able to evoke the emotion we want from users, try out colours to match each other. We spent most of our time on finding app and colour references and on deciding which colour palette we should go for. For Typography, we had to find cubic font and then tried it out on the colour palette to ease our sight on deciding which font goes perfect. Then, We were having a hard time on discussing about the pitch video too as we are encouraged to implement some playful content to make the video interesting at the same time keeping the video as short as possible. Halfway through the project, we realised that we need to separatee the contractors' and homeowners' content in the video due to the app layout page has different content as well. Then, we had to allocate the time for each frame's animation. Overall, we took a week and a half to finalise the art direction, and there were a lot of consideration and amendment to make even when the decision was made. Moreover, I have learnt some knowledge about creating the app information architecture and user app flow chart. Even though i was not a big help in this area, but i tried to understand the user all flow chart in order to implement them in the pitch video. I was mesmerised by the hardwork my teammates put in the user app flow chart. The user flow chart was the main element in this project.
Observation:
In this task, I have observed that how important colour palette is in an app or a design. It is one of the key elements to enhance user experience of an app. When i was using the colour palette generator, I had to search for the complementary colours in order for all the colours to match. I chose a colour palette which has the combination of yellow and turqoise colour which stands out a lot however, it does not suit our app's concept, in the end we had to scrap this idea. Hence, knowing the meaning of the colour does help in enhancing the app project concept, and therefore, we chose the colour blue as the main colour palette.
Findings:
I have never known that creating a user app flow chart required a long time and a lot of manpower. It requires a lot of critical thinking in how to solve users' frustration while using the app and to include all the possible app feature to solve users' needs. It has encouraged me to want to learn more about the concept of UIUX and to help out more in designing the app features in this project in the future. For this part of the project, my team leader taught me about some concepts of UIUX and i looked up some app references in order to create a visual appealing page layout for the app. It was truly a helpful lesson for me to learn new things out of my expertise.
